Fruita, CO - Rim Rock Elementary School unveiled its new mural on Monday, March 28!
The school received a Colorado Arts Partnership grant funded by Colorado Creative Industries and the National Endowment for the Arts in order to create the mural. Students and the community contributed words to help inspire the theme for the mural, which depicts a lynx (the school mascot) climbing up Colorado National Monument.
Rim Rock students in each grade level k-5 painted a panel of the mural. Staff were able to join in the process as well, serving as volunteers who helped during each class.
Thank you to artist Pavia Justinian, Rim Rock students and staff, Tracy LeFebre (who helped Rim Rock get the grant), Think 360 Arts, Colorado Creative Industries, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Office of Economic Development and International Trade for making this project possible!
