Grand Junction, CO - Members of the D51 community are invited to join D51 School Board members for an Evening Conversation with the Board at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2022, in the Harry Butler Board Room, 455 N. 22nd St.
This informal meeting will offer an opportunity for the board to receive feedback from students, staff, and other Mesa County residents regarding school safety. Many have reached out to the board in recent weeks to ask questions and share comments and concerns about the topic of school safety in light of the tragic school shooting last month in Uvalde, Texas.
This gathering will be in the style of a Board Coffee, just in the evening. There will be no agenda, presentations, decisions made, or voting by the board. Comments made at the meeting will be shared with the District 51 Safety Committee, a group of D51 staff, local law enforcement and criminal justice professionals, and community stakeholders who meet regularly to discuss school safety.
